A great day out, the Lion Park is situated near Lanseria Airport and Fourways, within easy reach of Johannesburg and Pretoria. The Lion Park is home to over 80 lions including the rare white lions and many other carnivores such as cheetah, wild dog, brown hyena, striped hyena, spotted hyena, black-backed jackal, side-striped jackal, and a wide variety of antelope which roam freely in the antelope area.
Guests have an opportunity to interact with some of the animals in the Cub World area which has a giraffe feeding platform that puts you at eye level with our tame resident giraffe creating a fun experience for all ages. Then there is the popular cub interaction which allows guests to touch the cubs and take photographs.

Wonder Caves

The Wonder Cave Is located about 2.5 km from the Kromdraai. The enormous cave chamber with a volume of 46 OOOm Is believed to be 2.2 million years old. This cave has the best example in the region of a relatively young taluscone (a few thousand years old) which helps us understand how the older caves in the area were filled in. Wonder Cave contains drip stone formations as beautiful as those in the Cango Caves. It also has a resident bat population. Hourly tours are conducted by on well-lit pathways where no crawling is necessary. |

Within the visitor attraction lies an exciting 4-billion-year journey on an underground lake, through the elemental forces – water, air, fire and earth – dipping through waterfalls and real icebergs, into the eye of a storm, past erupting volcanoes and through the depths of the earth and emerging at the beginning of the world. From here, the journey continues through an experience highlighting the history of our world and humankind as a species, brought to life via audiovisual techniques, evocative sound effects, theme-park technology and theatrical displays. There are also real fossils on display at the visitor centre. |

Open vehicle game drive in Kwalata: Kwalata Game Ranch is part of the Dinokeng Conservancy (Place of rivers), an envisaged 200 000ha set aside for eco-tourism. In the northern corner of Gauteng, the rich diversity of natural habitats of the bushveld and grassland-terrain of Dinokeng provides a suitable setting and a natural home for a variety of wild animals, including the legendary African Big Five.
Kwalata Game Ranch derives its name from the endangered and proud Sable Antelope.
Covering an area of 1500 HA, only 45 km north of Pretoria, Kwalata is home to more than 14 species of game. Kudu, zebra, giraffe, blue wildebeest, impala, waterbuck, steenbok, ostrich and warthog are just some of the animals roaming the African savannah. Four kilometres of the Pienaarsriver sustains a colourful abundance of birdlife in this malaria free area. The protected Tamboti tree also enjoys prominence at Kwalata Game Ranch as Main Camp is built amongst a number of these beautiful trees.
Kwalata’s Cultural Tour to Mandela Village provides a unique experience for one and all. On the cultural tour we embark on a trip to the vibrant Mandela Village close to Kwalata Game Ranch. This town was established during the time of the release of former President Nelson Mandela, and we will also have a chance to view a full sized bronze statue of our respected statesmen. Pilanesberg National Park

The Pilanesberg National Park borders on the entertainment complex of Sun City. The park is 55.000 hectares in extent. It is almost perfectly circular because it comprises the area of a 1200 million years old volcano crater with a small lake in the centre. This very scenic terrain lies in the transition zone between Kalahari and Lowveld, and both types of vegetation are found here.
In the Pilanesberg National Park today live virtually all the animal species of southern Africa, including, lions, elephants, white and black rhinos, buffaloes, leopards, zebras, hyenas, giraffes, hippos and crocodiles. Over 300 bird species were counted.

Elephant Sancturay |
Guests are guided in small groups on foot through The Elephant Sanctuary. The guide will provide in-depth information and insight into African elephants. You will be introduced to the elephants and you will be able to touch and interact with the animals. You will see the special relationship that the elephant handlers share with their elephants and become a part of it. Short walk with the elephants trunk-in-hand. See where the elephant sleep at night in their stables. Feed the elephants. On some hot days you may even see the elephants swimming. Lunch (optional) on the main deck overlooking the elephants. |
