HIGHLIGHTS: Pilanesberg National Park
Day 1. – Pretoria/Johannesburg – Pilanesberg Park – Manyane Camp
7:00 Departure from your hotel in Pretoria, or Johannesburg, or from the international Oliver Tambo airport in Johannesburg (we recommend that you overnight in the 4 star Touraco Guesthouse in Pretoria). The 2 hour drive takes us through though Gauteng & the Noth West Provice to the Pilanesberg National Park, situated in a Malaria-free area . Established in early 1980’s, this Reserve of over 58 000 hectares (580km²) offers you the famous Big Five in a beautiful, mountainous area .
For lunch (own account) we’ll stop at the Pilanesberg Day centre & at sunset we’ll arrive at Manyane, our over-night camp. At 19:00 we can enjoy a typical South African dinner in the restaurant (own account).

Day 2. – Pilanesberg Park – Maynane Camp
Early in the morning before breakfast we set off in search of the “Big Five”. Pilanesberg offers all the classical African big game, including elephant, black and white rhino, hippopotamus, giraffe, zebra, buffalo, and warthog. Large carnivores include lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and brown hyena. There are also many equally enticing species of smaller mammals.
Optionally you could join a opt for an open vehicle game drive.
Breakfast will be enjoyed at Manyane. Thereafter we’ll continue our drive; lunch (own account) can be enjoyed in the rest camp, or you can relax at the pool.
A Pilanesberg National Park Safari with Touraco Tours allows you to enjoy a full day game drive option in the park, on the lookout for herds of elephants, hippo and the ever entertaining troops of baboons.

Day 3. – Pilanesberg Park – Pretoria/Johannesburg
Between 5:00 & 6:00 we’ll leave on our early morning drive, hoping to witness a lion pack at last night’s zebra kill, or meet lions returning from their night encounters. You might decide to join an optional eraly morning open vehicle game drive.
After breakfast we’ll continue our drive. Hopefully we’ll see some from extinction threatened rhino before leaving the park in time to be back in Johannesburg/ Pretoria, or the airport at approximately 16:00 (an optional overnight stay can be arranged in the Touraco Guesthouse).
